ULTRA Token Upgrade: RAD Snapshot and Nexus Miner Migration
ULTRA's token upgrade uses a snapshot for RAD balances (no need to lock or submit RAD) while Nexus Miner NFTs must be submitted via the official upgrade flow. Nexus Miners continue earning rewards throughout.
ULTRA Upgrade of Cardania Assets
Ultra Labs is supporting RAD and Nexus Miner Upgrades to Ultra tokens, bringing the core Cardania community along for our next stage of innovation in the blockchain space.
RAD Holders — Not required to hold.
- The RAD snapshot took place on December 15th, 2025
- All wallets holding RAD are eligible to claim ULTRA tokens on the Upgrade page
- We estimate Q2 2026 the functionality will be available, is subject to change.
- Users with RAD in the Nexus Purse wallet will be supported as well, so don't worry if you did not claim these by the airdrop date.
- RAD holders split 5% of the UTLRA supply - 1,000,000 ULTRA tokens
Nexus Miners — Hold these!
Nexus Miners are treated differently: Nexus Miners will need to be turned in as part of the upgrade process.
This means owners must submit their Nexus Miner NFTs through the official upgrade flow to be migrated to ULTRA tokens. This is a mandatory step if you want your Nexus Miner asset to be included in the upgraded system.
Importantly, Nexus Miners will continue earning BTC rewards from the mining operation at https://cardania.io
- Nexus Miners are allocated 15% of the Ultra Supply, or 3,150,000 ULTRA tokens
- All wallets holding Nexus Miners are eligible to claim ULTRA tokens on the Upgrade page
As of January 9th, 2025, each miner is eligible for:
- Ultra Miners: 10,057 ULTRA
- Deluxe Miners: 5285 ULTRA
- Standard Miners: 1,570 ULTRA These numbers will change as more Nexus Miners are minted
How to get more ULTRA?
There are only two ways to get ULTRA outside of the RAD Snapshot and holding Nexus Miners. These are:
- Stake to ULTRA Pool with the ISPO starting February 1st, 2026.
- Mint more Nexus Miners on Cardano
We left the mint open to Nexus Miners for continued mine expansion!
Design Decisions
The Cardania asset allocations were carefully designed to maintain or increase value to long term believers in the Cardania community and those who helped fund our initial mining facility.
We believe the ULTRA tokens, paired with the ISPO expansion model, will create significant value for holders and stakers and reward the Cardania community for its support over the years!
What about other Cardania Collections?
We aren't forgetting about the other Cardania collections like Terraforms, Citizens, ETU Cards, and Starships. These assets will be core to future games we produce, and could be useful with agents.
Theres much more to be said on this front, but our focus remains on building mining infrastructure and ensuring sustainable revenue for ULTRA holders and the project. We are confident our plan will allow us to invest in amazing games, utilities, and experiences in the future.
